Heimdall Power is now teaming up with yet another Norwegian DSO, this time in a new area of Norway.

We are happy to welcome Lyse Elnett as a new Heimdall Power customer! They will utilize the Heimdall Power Neurons, along with our Heimdall Cloud software to enhance their grid. Lyse Elnett is one of the biggest DSOs in Norway, and have their core operations in the Rogaland area. Included in this is also the Stavanger and Sandnes metropolitan areas, combining to be the third most populous urban area in Norway.

Lyse Elnett will instrument critical 50kV and 132kV lines with Neurons, as these specific lines are often experiencing a high load due to their positioning in the grid. Through the implementation of Dynamic Line Rating technology provided by Heimdall Power, smarter and safer operations of the lines in question will soon be possible for Lyse Elnett.

Knowing the actual line temperature in real-time is one of the clear benefits they have identified before starting this project with Heimdall Power, but they will also use other measurements provided by the Neurons to enhance their operations.

Product manager at Heimdall Power, Magnus Helgeby is looking forward to get this exciting project up and running: “I think this will be a very good case for showing how Dynamic Line Rating can improve grid operations in a fast, safe and cost-effective way. Lyse Elnett is a great company to work with, and we really look forward to provide them with valuable data from our Neurons.
